Module 11 – Evaluation, Support, And Assistive Technology Abandonment

Introduction

As discussed in previous modules, one of the primary goals of providing AT for persons with disabilities is to determine the AT device that best maintains, improves, or increases the functional  capabilities. To this point assessment procedures have been discussed, and information about the potential roles of AT in different settings has also been presented. This module is intended to discuss and promote awareness about what can happen to AT usage following the provision of initial AT services when continued periodic assessments do not take place.
