Grades

Information about grading may be found under "University Marking System" in the Registration Information link on ISIS (Iowa Student Information Services).

Academic Misconduct, Probation, and Dismissal

The Center for Credit Programs supports University of Iowa policies governing academic misconduct. Each college provides disciplinary and appeals procedures regarding reports of academic misconduct. The CLAS Student Academic Handbook http://www.clas.uiowa.edu/students/handbook/ provides examples of both plagiarism and cheating and a description of the appropriate disciplinary and appeals procedures.

Grade Reports

http://isis.uiowa.edu/
Neither the Registrar’s Office nor the Center for Credit Programs sends final grade reports to students. There are features on ISIS that allow you to review grades, print out a grade report, and order an official transcript once you login with your Hawk ID and password.

Grades in Progress: This feature allows you to view an unofficial display of your grades as soon as they are submitted to the Registrar even though they may not yet be posted to the permanent record. Select Student Records>Courses & Grades>Grades in Progress.

Grades and Tuition Report by Semester: You may create a printable grade report, or grade and tuition report, by going to Student Records>Courses & Grades>Grades and Tuition Report by Semester>View Report. The PDF document has The University of Iowa official seal as part of the background and includes brief explanatory text of UI’s grading system. Only grades that appear on the permanent record will be included in the report. This report includes your name and, optionally, your University ID number so you may be able to use this report for employer reimbursement or other applications for which you need a semester grade report.

Transcripts

Final course grades are posted at the end of the session and are entered on your permanent student record at The University of Iowa.

Official transcripts of your permanent record can be obtained from the

Office of the Registrar,
The University of Iowa,
1 Jessup Hall,
Iowa City, IA 52242-1316.

For information on the current transcript fee, or to order your transcript by phone, call 319.335.0230. A transcript request form, which can be printed from the Web and mailed or faxed to the Office of the Registrar, is available online (address above). By using their Hawk ID, students may also print grade reports through ISIS: http://isis.uiowa.edu/. Go to Student Records>Documents & Reports>Transcript Request.
