Find a Course using the
Iowa Student Information Services Web site (ISIS)

All courses offered at The University of Iowa, including those offered through the Center for Credit programs, are listed on the Iowa Student Information Services Web site, or ISIS. Our course numbers are most easily identified by the section indicator that follows the second colon. Refer to the guide below.

There are a number of ways to view lists of courses or to find information on individual courses. Use any of the search options below, or choose a combination of them, to narrow your search. You do not need to log in with your Hawk ID and Password to search for courses.

• Search by session. Use the pulldown menu at upper right to select spring, summer, or fall session.
• Search within Saturday & Evening or Distance Education (including delivery type). Check the appropriate box or boxes to narrow your search to one of these categories or a combination of them. These options appear at the right of the screen.
• Enter the department number, course number, section, day of week or other search criteria provided, or, where possible, use the pulldown menu to identify features of courses for which you are searching. These options appear on the left.
• Browse a number of different course lists by choosing from links at the bottom of the page. Search regular, daytime on-campus courses or distance education courses.
