Blended Course Work For the Way You Learn





Complete an associate’s degree then take University of Iowa (UI) course work at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) , Eastern Iowa Community College District (EICCD), Kirkwood Community College, or Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC).  These four community colleges have partnered with us to offer you an opportunity to complete one of two UI degree programs.
  • Bachelor of Applied Studies—AAS, AS graduates
  • Bachelor of Liberal Studies—AA graduates

Choose from Four Degree Tracks:

  • General Studies
  • Nonprofit Management Certificate
  • Entrepreneurial Management Certificate

Courses to be offered at each Community College for the Fall 2009 semester

Globalization 3 s.h. – 30:177:EXW

Several of the most important political issues confronting societies today (trade, immigration, multi-national corporations/outsourcing) involve globalization. The goal of this course is to provide students with a survey of how globalization interacts with national politics. This course will also emphasize political and economic topics such as labor and capital mobility, the possible decline of the welfare state, the convergence of regulatory policies around the world including financial and accounting regulations, the importance of international organizations and regional integration.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation (requires pre/co-requisite) 3 s.h. – 06T:120:EXW

An introduction to the entrepreneurial process from the conception to birth of a new venture, attributes of successful entrepreneurs, innovation, and creativity, opportunity recognition, venture screening, identification of resources and feasibility analysis.
